At the same moment artist and craftsman, this thirty-year-old young man is a sculptor and a designer, fascinated by the work of the metal, to the point that he made his mode of expression, his language in everyday life.
His personality and his sensibility meet themselves completely in each of his works.
Other passion: the light! José plays with it: it is not the artist who expresses himself anymore, it is the work even!
The set of shadow and light, around every realization, creates an atmosphise, a space, suggests the other ideas.

Thus Jose reveals the origins of his achievements:
Discs of brakes which support the world and which light your daily universe, hise is an original lamp, with the alleviating virtues.
An empty illuminated oil barrel, representing our mother “the ground” howling That' S Enough (that is enough), stop pumping, the ground suffered enough (it is a sculpture set of themes) STOP WITH OIL!!!
An old closet collected in a store will become a splendid door coats, with the almost human silhouette which tightens you the arms and is given the responsibility to keep the keys or the currency that you entrust to him, etc, etc,…
For Jose, art must accompany our life by the every day, one has pleasure to see it, one can touch it.
A friend likes to render service; the sculpture must thus have a function, make itself useful.

Jose Cabanelas creates the prototypes of multiple decorative objects, of parts of furniture, even straightforwardly of pieces of furniture.
Then, it subjects its achievements at specialized firms.
Once his accepted projects, Jose will see his works exploited with multiple specimens.
Its artistic work proposes only single parts: they testify to the dashes of the heart, of the instantaneous ones which convey moments, selected thoughts.
Jose approaches his activity of designer as a craftsman of independent art:
if these creations are personal works, they must correspond to the tastes and the needs for the companies which will distribute them.
Its style will have to touch a larger audience, it thus supposes some (small) concessions with commercial criteria.
The craft industry has obligatorily a utility vocation, which does not exclude of anything the artistic creativity designer.
Art, it is another approach, a more personal universe which has nothing to do with the fashion…

To be an artist, it is the creativity in a pure state.
To be a craftsman, it is also to take account of daily realities.
Jose Cabanelas functions under these two “caps”.
In all the cases of figures, it considers his achievements as a good father sees his children:

Our ways of life would be different with the daily newspaper: never used pans out of metal or simply of keys to start your car or to open the door of your apartment?
